BF and diarrhea?

So my little guy usually poops twice a week or so. He's almost exclusively bf with an occasional supplemented formula bottle. The last few days he's been pooping once a day, but today he's pooped 5 times within the last 8 hours or so. It's pretty thin and runny, but most of the time his poops are.

Other than that, he has no fever, is in a super good mood (all day), and no other symptoms. He's also had his regular amount of pee diapers.

I have been eating a ton of almonds and nuts lately. I'm wondering if this could cause the diarrhea? I'm worried because he goes to daycare tomorrow and I don't know if I should take him in and take the day off or not. If he showed signs of anything else being wrong it'd be easier to say I should.

 Anyone who BF have any input? Thanks!

    I don't think it's a big deal. DS has had constant diarrhea since 5 weeks of age and he's just fine. If he doesn't have a fever and he's happy, then he's fine. Something just isn't agreeing with his digestive system and that will happen. I don't think it's anything to take a day off work for.

    Are you sure it's diarrhea? I have a EBF LO and he poops several times a day.It could be that he is just eating more lately as he grows or maybe something isn't agreeing with his tummy. Make sure that it isn't diarrhea as that can cause dehydration.

    Your LO normally poops twice a week??? Did you mean twice a day? My LO poops 4-8 times a day and he is EBF. I would be really concerned about LO if he only pooped twice a week...

    BM bowel movements normally resemble diarrhea... maybe your LO's digestive tract is getting regulated?

    Even in you lo is only pooping twice a week- that is still normal for a bf baby because bm is so week absorbed there isn't always alot of waste. As for the diarrhea- I would call the pedi just to be safe- inwouldnt want your LO to get dehydrated. My DS was pooping 4-6 times a day and around 7 weeks or so his poop slowed down to once every other day sometimes less. Hth!

    Thanks so much for the replies. Yes, he normally poops twice a week, sometimes only once. We have called the doctor 3 times about it, and each time he reassures us it's completely normal for some bf babies. I guess he's absorbing everything I give him and not making much waste. In fact the doctor said that his own son did the same poop pattern when he was a baby, lol.

    The reason I'm thinking it's mild diarrhea and not regular poop is because it's such a sudden change and also he has been "sharting" all day on top of it, and he never does that!

    He did fine overnight and I'm going to play it by ear this morning. Thanks!
