I *think* I solved the stink problem for good this time.
Doing a warm pre-wash rinse actually seems to make a huge difference. Even washing every day to day and a half I still got some poop smell coming out of the washer. I tried the warm rinse once and it was totally gone. Forgot to do warm (and did a cold one) the next time and it came back. Back to warm the third time and again, no stink.
I really hope it stays away!

how's the staining?
I have heard warm (or hot) takes away the detergent much better. It dissolves it more, etc.

Stains seem better too. Not totally gone, but less noticeable. I bet most of that is the washing every day though.
