Call the doctor?

My LO has a cold that started with a stuffy nose and now has developed a cough. Normally the pediatrician just runs through the list of things I'm already doing...nasal spray, bulb syringe, humidifier, etc. We are doing this but she's never had a cough before. No fever just a cough and stuffy nose. Should I call? What's signs of RSV? I've googled it but would like to hear from some of you who have dealt with it. TIA!

    If he was running a fever I would say yes. but he is not.  I also never dealt with RSV.  Trust your instinct and hopefully some other ladies on here have better suggestions. 

    When in doubt get the doctor on call.

    I don't know if you can with your hospital, but after I gave birth they gave me the number to the nursery and said to call anytime I had questions. I've actually called them more than DS's pedi, but they do the same thing yours does, pretty much goes down the list of things I'm already doing. HTH!

    When Miles had the same symptoms, I called and asked if I should bring him in.  They said I should, just to make sure his ears weren't infected, too.  Apparently, ear infections sometimes accompany these colds, and there's no signs to watch for.  I took him in, and everything was fine, but at least I had peace of mind in knowing that.

    DS had RSV last month.  So far, you are doing everything right for him.  Just be sure to watch if the breathing changes, like it gets really rapid or he seems to be struggling to breathe.  That is the symptom that tipped me off last month.  Immediately after that he started vomiting and not having wet diapers, so he was becoming dehydrated.  He was hospitalized for 5 days.  Good luck to you, and definitely call if you feel you need to.  Do not ignore your "mommy instincts"!
