When Do You Shower and What Do You Do With Baby?

I haven't had the need to do this since my mom has been around, but my friend would put her baby in a moses basket or snuggle nest and put baby on the bathroom floor while she is showering.

DD eats between 930 and 1030 am. After she eats I put in her in the PNP to play or she naps in her swing. It depends on her mood that day as to what she wants to do. Then I hop in the shower. This is when I am home alone with her during the week.

The bathroom is just off the room I leave her in and I leave the door open so I can hear her.

I find showering just after she eats is the best time. She is usually content playing or sleeping for the time I am in the shower, get dressed and make the bed.

I shower WITH the baby... but if DH weren't home, and I really wanted to shower and didn't feel like taking baby in with me, I'd try to make sure I do it while she's napping in either the swing or PNP, or if I have to have it while she's awake, I'll take her rocking chair into the bathroom with me and strap her in.

With DD1 I would feed/change her and then put her in her bouncy chair on the bathroom floor. This is how I showered for months.

When she was older I put the jumparoo in the doorway and showered that way.

Now I put the swing in the bathroom with me and take a shower while Melody is taking a nap in her room.

I shower first thing in the morning. LO and I get up, I feed him, then lay him in his crib while I pump. During that time, he just stretches out and coos - it only takes me about 10 minutes to pump. After that, I put him in my bouncer and set him in the bathroom while I shower. The warmth and sound of the running shower make him fall right asleep.

I usually shower during the day when I am home alone with DD. I just make sure she is napping somewhere safe (i.e. her PNP, bouncy seat, etc). I get everything ready and then check on her one more time just before I get in and right away when I get out. Even if she wakes up during this time and cries it would only be for a couple minutes.

I drag in the swing in the bathroom if I want to shower when dh is at work but most of the time I shower when I put DS down for the night around 8:00pm and give DH the monitor

I often get up before LO and shower then or do it when he is napping. If not I also do the bouncer on the floor.

I put DD in the car seat in the bathroom with me while I bathe. I sing to her and talk to her to keep her entertained so she doesn't start to fuss or wail. Always works, but you have to make sure she is fed, changed, burped and happy.

Either before she wakes up for the day or during her afternoon snooze. We have a small house and I just leave the bathroom door open--I can hear her if she wakes up.

I keep the door open and put her in her bouncer right by the doorway so she doesn't get too hot. I poke my head around the curtain so she can see me, sing her songs, and take my time (but not too long). I've only done it once but that is my plan for now on as well. It was so nice and smooth. Big Smile

It's become part of our routine--if it's a non-working day, he hangs out in his bouncer after his first feeding of the morning. On the days that I'm working, I shower the night before after he goes to sleep. One less thing to do in the morning since I have to be at work by 6:45 am.

I wait until DS has fallen asleep after a bottle and then I run to the shower. He's fine in either his swing or the PNP.

I wait for LO to be sleepy or contented and put him in the bouncer in the bathroom while I shower. He's only cried once in 5 weeks while I was in the shower.
