Well, my mom met me but was actually somewhat counter-helpful (gooshing over the baby, asking me a zillion questions while I tried to find something decent that fit me to buy for work). Here's my observation:
-People with highest discretionary income (i.e. at the mall): teenagers, wealthy-looking women in their 60's.....
-Innocent victims of non-kid-friendly mall in NoVA: PARENTS!
-# of times it took me to get on one of the two elevators for the entire mall each of the three times I needed to take it to change levels: 5 (total time elapsed, 15 minutes)
-Biggest FAIL kid store: Janie & Jack.....LOVE their stuff...hate the prices. And um, yeah....so tight two people with strollers can't fit in the store at the same time. Definitely designed for grandparents shopping sans LO's (and they can actually afford the prices)
-# of times it took me to get DH to pick me up from the CORRECT mall entrance: 4 (and 20 minutes elapsed)
All the above being the reason I'm still wearing maternity clothes or things I've bought at Target. I-hate-the-mall.

Me too. I go almost every week....
We sure were! Seriously, they need to upgrade the elevator situation.
I wish I'd known you were there today! I was only there an hour or so.
That's awesome that you're a mall pro! I LOVE Target, so I'm always there. I have that down pat (if you go before 9 a.m. where I live it's a ghost town).
It's gross, but DH and I do everything together. We both have flexible schedules so we've been to our local mall together while LO is at daycare during the week and also WITH LO on the weekend, but nope, I have hardly been anywhere without DH. I have to work on this!
oh, i wasn't there: I wasn't invited. It was guy bonding time. BLEH.
That's ok, M and I had girl bonding time with a couple friends all morning and afternoon!
LOL about guy bonding time-I think it's BLEH too. I'm glad you had fun with your friends today. Have a good weekend!
Two times a week.. two different malls :P
this made me laugh a little.
i hate our mall here. in the middle of the food court (which has high ceilings and tiled floor) there is a kid play area. i refuse to go anywhere near the food court it is sooo loud. if they just put the play area where carpet is or something it wouldnt be so bad.
DH, I, and LO in a stroller do not fit through smaller store aisles like Gymboree, The Childrens Place (i think thats what its called), and a bunch of other stores being that thats all the mall out here is made up of - small stores and dillards and jc pennys.
there are never good parking. I hate going by my self so me and DH and LO go WHEN WE GO and we always have to park all the way in BFE. and i hate it especially when its so cold out.
needless to say. we have only been to the mall once since LO has been born
me too! although i do frequent the mall here as a way of "walking for exercise"...lol
