Babies: 0 - 3 Months

how is this even possible?

I gave birth to 6.14lb DD on Wednesday. Plus, placenta, fluid, etc. I just hopped on the scale and I weigh exactly 6 lbs less than when I checked in to the hospital.. I haven't gone crazy with food or anything, and bathroom stuff is working fine, so I cannot figure this out... Is this normal?

  • You might still be retaining fluids. I was very swollen after I gave birth and I didn't swell my entire PG.

  • You retained a lot of water and fluids that last week of being preggo. And they pump you full of fluids in the hospital!

I was 145lbs when I gave birth and am now 112lbs. It was very gradual and I was still very puffy a week or 2 after giving birth.?

    ?

and good god did I sweat all of that stuff out haha I would wake up DRENCHED!?

  • This happened to me.  I had lost 2 lbs when I got home from the hospital and I had a nearly 7 lb baby.  I think it is the fluid.  I ended up loosing around 16 by 2 or 3 weeks pp and I lost all the pregnancy weight by 3 months pp.  Don't let it get you down.

THIS EXACTLY. The week before delivering I gained 13 lbs (I was diagnosed with pre-e) and was a serious balloon. I was definitely pumped full of fluids. I had a 5lb12oz baby and lost another 15 lbs in fluid. By 2 weeks PP I lost a total of 40 lbs. You have to remember everyone's body is different. I'm sure you will lose it!
  • Normal.  I, too, gained around ten pounds that last week.  I was down 9 pounds when I got home, and have lost a total of 44 pounds.
