8.8 earthquake in Chile

OMFG. I'm so glad I don't live somewhere earthquake prone. And that is effin huge. I just happened to see a friend's FB status saying they were under a tsunami warning in Hawaii. Wth is going on w/ Mother Nature? Someone seriously pissed in her Cheerios lately.

    I am glad that I don't live anywhere on the Pacific ring. Japan had that 7.0 the other day, now Chile.

    i missed that one somehow. maybe that's why the same friend's dh (a amrine) had to go to japan. scary. i imagine how unstable i feel in those bounce houses times a million with objects flying & falling around me ... no thank you.

    I am sure that something will be done, just not on the scale of Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

    Chile is miles ahead of them in terms of resources. Many of their buidings are built to withstand seismic events, unlike the shacks in Haiti.

    I'm SO glad we are back from Hawaii :) we just got back i couldn't imagine still being there during that :(
