It's still in the garage. I ended up repainting it. I washed it down twice with full strength vinegar, and then ammonia (well, Windex), both of which are known to remove odors. It definitely helped. But I think the smoke just set in the paint as it dried. So I'm just doing a coat or 2 of paint over the whole thing. That should do the trick.
I can't wait to get it back into her room. Hopefully this weekend!
