Lunch update!

Hello loves! Just got back from being out for the afternoon. Today went much better than I expected. I'll say again that she's a really really nice girl, and I like her as a person. We are very different people, and at totally different places, but I think there is a chance at a civil friendship.

What I was really proud of is that I was in super honest mode today. When she asked about kids, I told her the truth about what had happened with the m/c, our trying, and even about my other 'friend' that is oops KU. She was actually very supportive and understanding.

I also think I might have gotten through to her about her jumping into ttc. Her and her DH have only been married since she turned 18 a few months ago. The Army is already stressing out their marriage, and she mentioned that her DH wants a baby to "fix things and bring them closer," which we all know doesn't ever work.

I said "I'm going to tell you the same thing we get told about deployments. If you have a strong marriage going into the deployment, you're marriage will get stronger. If you have a rocky marriage going into it, it will likely break. It's the same thing with a baby. You might think you're ready for taking care of a baby, but if your relationship, I'd hate to see y'all collapse under the pressure of having a baby too soon." And she actually agreed! I'm hoping that maybe I can be a good big sister type to her.

I feel good about preventing a future FH (lol) but also about honestly feeling like I gave good advice.

Ugh, now DH and I are on the way to do taxes. It looks like I have a lot of posts to catch up on from today!
