I've worked from home for the past 3 years so I have nn't been clothes shopping for work in a long time but when I did, I used to go to Macys, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Arden B, Ann Taylor Loft, Express, Banana Republic, and whatever else I could find walking around NYC.
I always forget about Express and I actually have dress pants that I love from there. I think I just need to find a new mall that has a better selection!

NY&Co is the best...and if you sign up for their rewards program (free) they mail you coupons ALL THE TIME and they are absolutely awesome coupons. I also like Maurice's - I'm not sure if there is one near you, but you should look it up - www.maurices.com.
This. Love that store! Also Kohl's if you have that in TX.

I generally shop the sales on Banana Republic's website for work clothes. When I want to splurge I go with BCBG and for my biggest splurges I buy Theory.

I used to like Ann Taylor a lot, but I think their new stuff is weird and ugly and poorly made.
If you're willing to invest in classic, quality pieces that will last forever, I recommend Brooks Brothers. Love.
ETA: Banana Republic has always been hit-or-miss for me as far as being able to find stuff that fits, but they have decent clothes most of the time. And JCrew is almost always a good bet.

Express and New York & Company.
I also have found some great stuff at Kohls.
Hope this helps!

I love Ann Taylor (not loft-just plain Ann Taylor).
I also like New York and Company but Anny Taylor is my favorite.
