I just got my alumni magazine, and here are a few of the birth highlights. My college is in the Midwest and made up mostly of students of Scandinavian descent.
Most popular girl names: Annika (or Anika) and Quinn
Most popular boy names: Jack, Benjamin and Andrew
Very Scandinavian girl names used: Freja, Kjirsten, Elsa and Marit
Most Scandinavian boy name: Espen
And the very different names (I don't care for them):
girls - Brittastina, Claranna and Lumia; boys - Hampton and Torren
Re: What grads from my college are naming their kids
If you're a cobber girl, did you go to Concordia?
On the names-I know a couple of Annika's, and an Elsa. Being Scandinavian, I would love to use Scandinavian names on my future children, but I married an Italian, and Scandinavian first names sound pretty funny with a very strong Italian last name. I love Greta & Aksel.
