Teagan goes to bed anywhere between 7:30 and 9:00. It all depends on whether or not she takes a late afternoon nap. If she does, then she can make it to 9:00 but if she doesn't she's ready to go by 7:30. Is this bad that we aren't putting her down at the same exact time each night? How strict are you with LO's bedtime?

We used to be strict in the beginning after he started STTN: 7:45-8pm. But then we put him on summer hours and all went out the window. It can range anywhere from 8:30 - 9:30 (sometimes later)...and gets up anywhere from 7:30 - 9:30 am. He usually is playing so well that we lose track of time. He never seems like he is ready for bed.
I'm a scheduler so bedtime is pretty strict, sometimes it's a little early if need be but really rarely later. We found what works for us though so I'm afraid to mess with it now.
It's kind of sad that it didn't even occur to me to have her stay up late on vacation so that we could stay out of the hotel room later until I read a post on here about a bedtime bottle. ETA- I'm kind of excited to try it since it could open a whole new world for me beyond 7:00
I don't think one is better than the other as long as it works for the needs of your family.
We stick to a schedule. Rosie is in bed around 8pm every night. If we're out somewhere we can keep her up, but the latest we've ever put her in bed is a little after 9pm.
I don't think one way is better than another, whatever works for your baby is the best.
I've only missed his bedtime once and it was horrible. He was 5 months old and screamed for the 45 minute drive to my sisters house. Ever since then we are always home at bedtime. But we don't have anywhere to go. If we are out to dinner then we just try to be home before 8.
We were pretty consistent with bedtime until he recently started freaking out at bedtime. We'd do quiet play/read books from 7-7:30, bath, brush teeth, then bed at 8pm. He was doing well enough that even if we were out somewhere past his bedtime, he'd usually fall asleep in the car and stay asleep until morning.
Once we know his ears are healed, we're going to try to go back to this schedule, or at least get to the point where he can put himself to sleep. For the last few weeks, he's been really off, and we aren't even seeing him get tired until about 9pm. I already have a feeling that he's trying to push limits right now, but want to make sure he's healthy before we retrain him.
