Carseat question

I'm looking at carseats for DC2. With DD we had the Graco SnugRide (I think that's right) which I liked, but I'm looking at some other options/suggestions as well. I need something that's not extremely wide as we've already got DD's carseat in there and there's not much room left. Maybe even suggestions for "slimmer" FF carseats for DD? I saw the Combi Corroco Lightweight and kinda liked the idea of it being less bulky, but wanted to get some other ideas, too. I'm also debating if I want to get another carrier style carseat this time around or a convertible one. So any suggestions, any options, any recs, I'm open. Moms of two or more, if you have any input, I'll take that, too! Thanks!

Re: Carseat question

  • If you're looking for a slim seat, you've got 2 solid options: the Sunshine Kids Radian and the Combi Coccoro. Both can be used RF and FF. The Radian will take up a lot more room RF, but it will last you much longer (or, you can use it FF from the start for #1).

Do you have any specific questions?

Not really any specific questions. It's just that there's SO many options out there, I thought it might be easier to just ask and see what other people are using and what's worked for them personally. I only have experience with the SnugRide and whatever kind DD has now (I don't even remember right now.) Also, if there's anything I really should stay away from, which ones would those be?

  • Personally, I'd stay away from most of the 3-in-1 seats (unless it's the Graco Nautilus) for your older child. I'd also skip anything with a short shell like the Britax Roundabout, anything "Eddie Bauer", etc. You want something that will last until your LO is ready for a booster and those seats have short shells that mean they'll outgrow them by height to soon and you'll need to buy another seat anyway. But if you have space issues in your car, I think the Radian would probably be perfect for you for your oldest and then you could still use the infant seat if you want for #2 until  you need a convertible. Or, if you really want to create more space, get the Coccoro for the new baby instead of using an infant carrier and get the Radian for your older one.

  • Great! Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it!
