I know there was a discussion a few days ago about this... and I've been thinking about since then... However, I just heard on the news that Vernon's widow has removed Stack's wife from her lawsuit. Not sure where it will go from here, but I was glad to hear that tidbit of info.

Re: update on lawsuit filed by widow of crash
Maybe she was as sickened as I was by her lawyer and his ""If Ms. Stack had alerted the authorities, my question is would this have happened at all?" comment.

She'll probably file a claim with the company that insured Stack's plane. Beyond that, I doubt she has many options for financial compensation. He burned down his house, and by killing himself, he likely voided any life insurance policy he may have carried. I suppose she could try to claim that the IRS is partially at fault for not providing better security for their staff, but I'm not sure she'll get very far with that. There's not really a lot a company can do to prevent someone from flying a small private plane into a building.

actually, i heard something about how she wanted some kind of protection (maybe restraining order) so the lawyer recc. filing a lawsuit becuase it could get done fast and easier that way???? not sure...
