2+ moms who had a c/s -- scar question

i have a thick scar from my surgery 3 years ago. it's used to be as thick as a pencil, but is shrinking lately. i'm concerned about how best to care for it as my belly grows (i've already got a sizeable bump, second babies will do that, i guess). sometimes it itches, but i'm most worried about stretching such thick scar tissue.

any tips/secrets from the 3rd T moms?

I also had a C/S with #1, but have had no problems with the scar stretching as my belly has just expanded OVER it and left the scar pretty much inact; I don't know if this is the norm or not, I was also concerned about this problem but it ended up not being one. I do put lotion on everyday just so the skin stays felxible, but its my guess that your belly may also expand over the scar, leaving it alone. Ask your doc what he reccomends too.

My doc told me they would be entering through my old incision, but at the time of closure, they would cut away any old scar tissue so that I would have a completely "new" scar. i.e. there won't be any increase in thickness after this next operation.

I had both my girls by c/s...using the same incisison point. From the 2nd time around, the only thing I think I remember was it itched on occasion. Those 2 c/s were only 15 months apart. Fast forward 5 years...now I'm 30w3d...it doesn't bother me at all if I really think about it.
