Keyfit 30 anyone?

We have the Cortina Travel System w/ the Keyfit 30 and put it in the car this morning so I could take it to the firestation and have it installed...the darn thing is huge! I'm talkin the person in the passenger seat is gonna have to sit straight up...please tell me that when it's installed it'll be better...DH is 6'3" and this means that he'll have to drive everywhere we go in my car...he always has the seat all the way back...

    yikes, i have this one too, but I haven't installed it yet.  Husband and I both have pretty small cars, but we're both pretty small people too though...

    What's even worse is that I have a Cadillac CTS, a midsize, and it's still hitting back of the front seat!

    Nope, we have it too and it stays huge. It's so big DH had to raise the headrest thing to accomodate it - and we already have a big car (Honda Pilot). We already bought the Chicco adapter for my uppababy stroller, so we kinda have to keep it... Otherwise, I'd be returning it.

    We have a Honda Civic, and our Keyfit is a pretty tight squeeze. :) Not much we can do about it though. I think all car seats are a similar size.

    We registered for the Keyfit30 (don't have it installed yet or anything), but my sister had one as well (which is partially why we picked it) and it fit fine in her car and there was plenty of legroom in the passenger seat, though, she does drive a jeep liberty, so I guess if you have a smaller car it might be tight?

    Depends on what kind of car you have.  When DS was first born we had a VW Jetta and an Infiniti G35.  In the Infiniti, we had no problems because the back has a ton of leg room.  In the VW, the seat had to be pulled up pretty far to accomodate the car seat.  I am only 5'0, so I had no problem but DH who is not particularly tall (5'10) was uncomfortable in the passenger side of the VW.

    I have a Cadillac CTS which, by all accounts, is a midsized car. I never considered that the car seat wouldn't fit properly.

    Oh no, we have the Keyfit 30 too, and a tiny tiny Toyota Yaris. I haven't tried to install it yet but was planning on doing that next week!

    We just installed our Keyfit30 in our Acura TSX.  We put the seat in the middle in the back and it fits really well.  Apparently most cars do not have the LATCH system in the middle so ours is rare.  Also, the carring handle needs to be reclined over the baby's head for trips in the car so that takes up even more room!  

    The inspector said that yes, the seat is big but it is a great seat with lots of beneficial features.

    It fits fine in m CR-V...I didn't have to move the passenger seat at all, but it's a really tight fit in our Audi wagon.  I have to move the passenger seat really far forward to get it in/out.

     I have LATCH in the middle so I may use that as an option...I've read that it just makes getting the LO in and out harder when the seat is in the middle.

    It fits fine in our FX35- I had to shut off the auto-reversing seats on exit so it didn't squish it.  Even with DH in the front seat it's fine.  I didn't think it was any bigger than the other ones, plus the LATCH connector on it is SO much easier to get out than the tiny clip ones.  

    In his TSX it has to go on the passenger side or the middle.  His TSX does NOT have LATCH in the middle- what year is yours that it does?  Are you sure it's supposed to be LATCHed in the middle and you're not just using the outside clips?

    The car is a 2006... I honestly haven't taken the time to look at the manual but I do know that there is a LATCH-thingy behind each of the 3 seats in the back...I am taking it to be installed after work and will let them and the manual be the judge of where it should go...
