  It will add the thread to your list of "Threads I'm watching," which is one of the links down along the left-hand side of the page.

  Lol, no that's not it. 

  You can tag threads so you can find them easily under your "Threads I am watching" list. Instead of having to dig around to find them down the board or what have you.

  ummm... ok, I know that is the way that it worked on the knot which often got pretty dicey and the moderator was asked to "step in"
