1st Trimester

And so it starts...alot of nausea

I am 6wks 1d today. For the past week i have been nauseous off and on but able to eat. Yesterday & today i haven't been so lucky. I am constantly nauseous and want nothing but i am starving. I am living on crackers & water. Today it's worse.

I am also eating sour patch kids that have worked the past few days but not today.

When do you ask for zofran? I go tomorrow for my first u/s and i'll ask but i just wanted to know when you ladies started it? Do you have to be throwing up to take it?

This feeling is just awful. I'm such a baby when it comes to feeling like this...ugh...

  • I don't have an answer to your question, but I wanted to know that I feel exactly like you do. I'm the biggest baby in the world! I hope you feel better soon.

  • You made me laugh when you said that sour patch kids have worked. What a random food, but oh so good! Now I want some!

  • I am 71/2 weeks and I started having the nauseas feeling this week. Not throwing up, but just feel ugh too. I have been able to eat so far, strange thing is that I have been wanting to eat meat, maybe my body is telling me to eat protien. So I had some chicken nuggets and they actually made me feel a little better, but I still want a hamburger. Sorry, I know this doesn't answer your question, just thought I would share on the topic.
  • Hey Hopeful!  I'm glad to see you here.  My RE recommended Sea Bands (available at Walgreens or CVS over the counter) they are a little knit bands with a pressure point and you place them on both of your wrists. I have to say without them I would be a puking hot mess.  So try it, maybe it will work for you too.

  • no you don't need to be throwing up to take Zofran...I wasn't throwing up but had horrible nausea and was unable to eat pretty much anything and constantly felt as though I was going to throw up. I would definitely ask for it. It's safe to take and saved me big time during my first trimester so that I could eat and survive going to work and such things. GL.

  • I've been dealing with all day nausea. Mine tends to get better when I do eat....but its hard to find something to satisfy. I started taking zofran but it wasn't working consistently, so I stopped taking it. I had alot of new mommies suggest trying preggie pops- which I put off for awhile but finally went and got some. They are really sour, which I think is what does it for me, and if the sour patch kids work sometimes, I think you should try these. I love them! You can find them in most maternity or baby stores, or order them from www.threelolllies.com  I hope you feel better soon. I am so counting down the days until 2nd tri when I hope the constant nausea begins to fade! :)
