Impromptu Vacation?

DH and I are looking to go on a weekend getaway in the middle of March ... only ... we want it to be somewhere w/in driving distance (Max 5 hours from Raleigh). Does anyone have any ideas? It doesn't have to be extravagent, but just someplace to "get away" but still have a good time? Savannah will be coming w/. :)

And D.C. is out - we are going there in the fall.

We are going to Wilmington/Wrightsville beach and the aquarium there this weekend, I am excited. I would suggest Williamsburg or Asheville.

How about Savannah or Charleston?  Richmond has some cool stuff, Charlotte, or the beach could be fun.

DH's parents used to live in Asheville so we've been there a lot (although, I have always loved it there!), and we want to take Savannah when she is older ... cheesy, but cute. :)

I will look into Charleston and Wrightsville (I'm just afraid the weather will be a crap-shoot like it has been lately).
