Austin Babies

most embarrassing nite ever...

first note, my doc said the following was ok since i haven't done anything really...

DH and i went to dinner at Tx Roadhouse (food was amazing!) they were busy as heck for a thursday nite but we were taken to a booth immediately. i go to try and sit down and WTF, i cannot get in the seat :-(

immediately i started crying. of course there are 2 long tables of pretty, skinny h.s. girls and they are like "aww" trying to be sympathetic.

i really almost died. the hostess (that didn't think to ask if we wanted to wait for a table...im not mad though) came and she was like "oh honey, would you like me to bring you a chair to set on the side of the booth?" um...yes. the whole meal was uncomfortable and awkward.

i was able to sit sideways but i could not fit with my belly...i am such a fat freakin cow

ok...the end.

  • Aww, sweetie, you're carrying 2 babies!!!  Don't worry- it was uncomfortable for me to get into some booths near the end of my SINGLETON pregnancy.  :)  It's cool.  Glad you got out tonight!!

  • if you makes you feel any better... my FIL can't fit in a booth ever, one and he's not carrying ANY babies... Stick out tongue

You're almost done - only days to go!!!

  • Oh, you poor thing! But you're not fat, your babies are! That's a good thing! Honestly I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have fit into a booth towards the end of either of my pregnancies and they were just one each. I'm sorry your dinner was awkward though :(

  • Oh no! Honestly, I thought you were going to say that you peed or that your water broke or something. Not fitting into a booth when you're 34 weeks with twins is not something to be embarrassed over! That just means that you're growing big, healthy babies!
  • Oh darlin'--you're carrying TWINS!  That happened to me while I was pregnant with Little Man (just one baby!), and just like you, I began bawling when I realized I couldn't fit in the booth.  From that point on I insisted we only sit at tables.  I recommend you do the same.  Hang in there--you're in the homestretch!

    **hugs**

  • AmethystBride stole my line! You're in the homestretch =)

  • Aww.. it's okay.  It happend to me about a month ago at Chili's.  You have a better excuse because you have two babies in there.   I only had one Embarrassed and still got stuck in the booth.
  • you are carrying TWO babies! TWO BABIES! repeat that to yourself whenever you're feeling big.

and what kind of idiots work at the tx roadhouse? isnt it their JOB to seat people all day long? have they not figured out that not everyone fits in the booth? they should have put you at a table in the first place. idiots.

  • That happened to me when I was pregnant with Daniel.  My friend (who was also pregnant and a due a month after me) and I went to a restaurant for dinner and the high-school boy who was the host tried to put us in a booth.  Neither of us could fit.  So he moved us to a table, then asked us if we'd like anything from the bar.  Silly little boy.

Don't let this get to you.  Like everyone else has pointed out, you're carrying not one, but TWO beautiful little babies!  You're not fat; you're pregnant.  You're way too special for a booth these days.  :)

  • Wow, I'm surprised you made it that far. I quit fitting into booths by about 28 weeks. It was definitely a little embarrassing to explain that we needed a table because I couldn't fit in the booth.

  • I agree with others that you have a perfectly good excuse! Plus, this is just temporary. If it makes you feel any better, I often can't fit around our cars in the garage (we both park in there), so I have to try different routes until I can find a way to the door! At the gym, I used to be able to snake between the weight machines and now I have to squat and match up my bump to the space like a puzzle piece to fit between them or go all the way around the row. I see it as funny because it's such a great reason to not fit, you know? Smile Sorry you felt embarrassed, but really there is no better reason to not fit!
