s/o furbabies . . . my basement smells like cat pee

I have 4 cats so we clean litterboxes daily, at least, and try to keep our basement really clean.  It is a finished basement and also part of our living space right now.  Someone decided to pee/spray out of the box, yet near the box, earlier today, and I just found it a few minutes ago.  Grrr.  The smell is not going away :(  I think it is time to replace the litterboxes, actually.

I know what to do, but I just don't want to deal with it right now!  Thanks a lot, kiddos.

    Thanks for the info.  We sell something similar to Nature's Miracle at my office, but there is no carpet in the area, and the smell seems to have permeated the plastic cat box.  They haven't had a big problem with our boxes before, but it may be time to add a couple more.  You are correct to worry about the size though, that can be a big factor with some kitties.  If it keeps up, we'll have to have a couple different types around. 

    Since I have 4 cats, if I followed the "rules", then I would have 5 litterboxes.  I've been trying to cheat with only 2 . . . bad vet.  Embarrassed
