NICU at Beth Israel

Anyone else deliver at Beth Israel and have a stay at their NICU.

my son had a really traumatic birth and because of it I havent been able to bring myself to post our birth story. We stayed at Beth Israel's NICU for 8 days. Ive been so jealous to read others and i finally had the courage...after three months... to sit down and really write it out. To be honest i only skimmed the surface of my emotions that went with it but its a start and i feel like im starting to heal. I still feel robbed of the nice parts of the experience but i dont know that that will ever go away. Im just posting the link because its LONG...consider yourself warned. so its on my blog.

Re: NICU at Beth Israel

  • i delivered my son at 27w6d at beth israel on nov 2 2008. he was there for a little over a month, and then transferred to the SCN at winchester (closer to our home at the time) for the remainder of his NICU time. even now, over a year later, i am not over it. i don't think you ever get over that pain and fear, but it does get a lot easier. i'm now pregnant with my 2nd and though the fear is there of another NICU stay, i am doing better. hang in there and enjoy your LO!
