Hot Baths while PG?

I've heard that you should avoid hot tubs, but what about a regular warm/hot bath?

I do. I don't see a difference in that verses a hot shower? I think you just aren't supposed to overheat.

Yes, its safe. You just want to be careful not to overheat. My OB said if you have to inch into the water, its too hot. I think he said to keep it at or below 100*?

I'm pretty worried I overheated this last time. I started to feel really hot, so I got out and didn't even dry off because I felt sick. I just fell into the bed to cool off. I'm just worried. Sad

It sounds stupid that this bath was on Saturday or Sunday night and I'm just thinking about it.

Really, don't stress about one time. I wouldn't make a habit of it, but overheating once or twice isn't going to hurt baby, I promise. I know I would be stressed too!

I took a lot of hot baths while pregnant with both and I had no problems...But in the first 12 weeks being hot made me sick...So maybe that is what is going on..

Your body told you to get out and you did. So you should be fine. Being hot used to make me sick(er) too.

I don't but only becuase I like them really hot and I figured it wasn't worth it to make them uncomfortable to me. I take a shower but I do miss a bath.

If you got out you're fine. I wouldn't get into a hot tub but I don't think you'll do any damage with a bath.

I took my basal body thermometer in the bath with me and made sure my water wasn't over 99. I think as long as you feel relaxed and dont' get hot, like sweating hot, it's okay. Hot baths are different than hot tubs, b/c hot tubs stay at a constant high temp. bath tubs are constantly decreasing in temp, so as long as you aren't sweating hot in the tub, you should be fine.

i took a hot bath every single day that i was pregnant. i'm not kidding. i would get home, and pretty much the first thing i would do was to get into the tub! it really relaxed me and helped with a lot of the pregnancy aches/pains i was experiencing. of course, the baths were never as hot as i normally like them, but they still felt great! so yes, take those baths!!!
