1st Trimester

are your pants still comfortable...?

I have these button extenders, it is a button with a piece of elastic attached to it.  So the button goes through your regular button hole, and the elastic goes around the regular button.  It give me about an extra 1/2 inch, which makes all the difference.

Where are you guys at?  Are your pants still fitting you comfortably?  This is my second...so I know it will pop sooner, but 10 weeks?  I need to lay off the cheeseburgers don't I...? :(

Re: are your pants still comfortable...?

  • They are a little tighter, but I attribute that to my crappy diet as of late.

  • I'm wearing all of my pants with a be-band.  None of them zip up fully with the exception of my favourite pair of cords...but I can't wear those everyday...grrr.  Damn gas and bloat.  Pisses me off.

  • I figure I am around only 5 or 6 weeks, and my pants are ALREADY uncomfortable. : (

  • By the end of the day, I am usually uncomfortable.  I am 10 weeks as well (with #2) and definitely am starting to show a little.  It is weird because I did not start showing at all with my first pregnancy until probably 18 weeks.

  • All my pants still fit but if I'm sitting at a 90 degree angle with jeans, it hurts and seems to induce some cramping.  Bought a pair of "maternity" pants from Old Navy although they look just like regular cargo pants.  They definitely don't hurt sitting straight up.

Me too, with my first I remember going swimming at 14 weeks and no one could tell I was pregnant.  But now...sheesh!  I could probably post a bump pic.

  • My pants were REALLY uncomfortable in weeks 9 and 10 -but now they are fine again (so long as I don't wear my belt too tight).  Am starting to think I may NEVER have a baby bump. :(

  • No. I am planning on digging around for my yoga pants to wear to work.

A few weeks ago, it was just bloat, but now, its solid and I don't burp if I poke my belly. I'm really short, but I'm all leg and hip and (until recently) no waist so most of my dress pants for work were long and loose. I still have 2 pairs of pants that fit well enough, but you have no idea how much I wish I thought out my outfit today!! This pair of pants, they are going to the deep dark recesses of my closet, not to be seen again until next Jan, when I'll have to go back to work.

It doesn't help that all this fetus wants are kit kats.

  • Pants started getting tight around 7 weeks. I'm 9 weeks now and can't button my pants. I've got my belt holding my pants up because it's still too early for me to wear my maternity pants.

  • I'm still good...in fact due to losing weight they are actually MORE comfortable now than before I was pg.  I have some belly popping, but it seems to stay above the pantline.

  • Still fitting into my pants.  The smaller ones are just now starting to get a bit tight around the waist, but other than that they fit.

shirts are a different story.  My boobs have grown so much that none of my button ups look right, my normal pull over type tops are short...that's frustrating.

  • I'm just thankful that I'm a nurse and get to wear scrub pants at work so that when I get bigger I'll still be able to wear comfortable clothes to work!

  • I got one of those Be Bands. It is pretty comfortable, though it slips around my pants so I have to adjust it when I get up. I might not be big enough yet, am not showing yet but bloated enough for buttoned up pants to hurt. I also bought a few pairs of oversized pants which are good too.
  • My pants do not fit.

  • My pants don't fit.  I could button them, but it would be excruciating and I would have muffin top from hell.  I've been wearing belly bands as of Monday.

This. All of this.  Big Smile

I bought a few belly bands and I'm sure they will come in handy but for now if I just wear a belt on one or two holes larger than normal and undo the top button I'm okay.  For now.  Not for long I'm sure!

  • i cant even get my pants over my thighs! and if they do make it over my thighs, theyre definitely not zipping up. bought a pair of 10s that fit wonderfully in the leg but are too big in the waist. but im sure in another month or so, i'll be squeezing into these too....

  • My pants are getting tighter for sure.  My jeans are snug, but still OK, but my work pants are getting pretty bad, I have to wear a Bella Band with one pair.
  • Try a be-band/bella band!  They are the best!  I haven't been able to button my pants for about a week, and the be-band basically turns any jeans into maternity jeans (as long as your legs and butt are still fitting in the jeans, you will be fine!)
  • no - I decided to slurge and move to maternity pants or my old pants with belly band. they were too tight.
