DS wasn't super happy while it was happening and a couple hours after it was done the pain meds wore off and he cried for awhile but after that no problems at all. It doesn't take very long at all. GL!
Honestly, DS didn't even seem to notice! He had the Plastibel done which is like a plastic cap that's put over it all and then it falls off when it's healed. I didn't have any extra maintenance, just had to keep it clean. The Plastibel fell off and all was well.
He slept. but we got the procedure done the day after he was born. but he literally just slept all the time. the doc said he was tired from the procedure. a few days later he was awake more but it didnt seem like it bothered him at all.
Our son was circumsized two days after he was born...and the nurse said he did very well and did not cry until she cleaned it with a wipe. But he was never fussy after, even when he was at home.

1. My first son, screamed the whole first night afterwards however the next night was much better.
2. However my second son did not. He didn't seem to be in pain. The difference was (I think) the pacifer, my first son wouldn't take one. DS2 was soothed with that
DS didn't cry or squirm or anything (according to DH because I wasn't there), but the baby next to him wasn't very happy about it. DS wasn't even fussy afterwards. Man, looking at it for that first week afterwards though made me feel horrible. It just looked so raw and painful, I couldn't help but think, "how could I have done this to my DS" but it's all good now.
Our was circumcised in the hospital. We didn't watch, but when he was brought back to us he was sleeping and then slept pretty much the rest of the day. We had a rough night that night, but it was our first night home from the hospital.
DS was fine afterward. He wasn't crying when they brought him back to my room and never seemed in any pain. They did ours right in the hospital the day we left. It healed beautifully and he's never had any problems with it.

He was fine, they put sugar water on his pacifier and he was just sucking away, apparently. He didn't cry or anything during the procedure, but as soon as he saw me when they brought him back in my room (at the hospital), he started to cry. He was upset for about 10 minutes and slept the rest of the day.

We had our son circumcised. I sobbed the entire time he was laying on that table. They strapped him down, which pissed him off, then they numbed him up with a needle and he screamed when the needle pierced his skin. During the procedure, however, he fell asleep so I don't think he was in too much pain. He also had his pacifier dipped in karo syrup multiple times which reduces their pain by up to 85%. He loved his sweet, sticky pacifier. He screamed a few times during the procedure and of course every time he did, I cried. My advice is, don't be in the room. Have your DH be in there, if he can. That being said, I will have any future sons circ'd, I just will not be in the room while it's happening. I'm sorry this was not a very positive story! Good luck!
My DS got his done just over 24 hours after being born at the hospital. They took him somewhere, where the doc did it, so we weren't there. He had calmed down by the time they brought him back. He was a little cranky that day (who could blame him?), but seemed to bounce back right away. Being 1 day old, he had no idea what to expect from the world, and by the time he realized he was an outside baby, I think the worst of the pain was over. I'm glad we had it done right away.
The positive is that it all went fine and healed well.
But I'll be honest, it was horrible to watch. DS was strapped down and screamed throughout the procedure. Yes he had anesthesia so I think much of the screaming was due to being restrained, but it SUCKED to watch. At the same time, I couldn't leave him there without us. That would be cruel.
He nursed like a maniac right afterward and was a bit fussy the rest of the day. We gave him tylenol and the next day he was back to normal. It took a few days for it to not look SO red, but maybe a week or so later it looked perfectly normal.
DS had his at 12 days old.

We did the plastibel as well very little blood like a drop and no pain. No real after care either. If we have another son we will be doing Plastibel again. He did not seem to have any pain.
ours was done the day after he was born. they kept him for 30minutes afterwards, but he never acted like it bothered him when we got him back. they used a plastibell for it so we're still waiting for that to fall off and the first few days we werent putting vaseline on it so when we removed his diaper it would stick a little which im sure hurt him we quickly learned we could use vaseline and no more problems!

we had a bris and DS did not flinch at all, I was standing right there(not looking) and I was expecting an ear piercing screech but there was not one. He was totally fine and it healed fine:-) The procedure took less than 30 seconds
He had his done the day after he was born. They put a numbing cream on his penis and some infant Tylenol to let him sleep it off.
He got a little pissed when the security tag on his cord rubbed on it once, but he was pretty good that whole day. The hospital gave us a cream to put on it for every diaper change. It's basically neosporin, we kept putting it on for a week or so. Until he had his first doctor's appointment.
DS had his on Tuesday. He did great! He never even seemed to notice. The only reason he was crying when they brought him back is b/c he was hungry. They said he never once cried. There looked to be a lot of blood that night, but it was just the ointment making it like there was. He should not have any problems. G/L.

We just had ours done an hour ago. The actual proceedure wasn't bad. Ds was pretty relaxed. The shot made him cry but that was the only time he seemed uncomfortable. He does seem to be in quite a bit of pain now after. He can sleep but cries while he is awake. Hopefully it won't be as sore soon!
My DS had his done the day we went home. He was fine the first day, but was extremely fussy the 2nd day - didn't want to nurse and screamed every time he peed and got his diaper changed. It took about 2-3 weeks for it to totally heal.
I did not want my son circumcised, but my DH did so we went ahead with it. My DH watched and said he didnt even cry. I just had to be careful with diaper changes for aweek so that I didnt hit it, otherwise, it was no big deal. GL

This! I think watching DH's reaction to the whole thing was more painful than anything else...

DS #1 born January 2010. DS #2 due June 2014.
This, he also has a little ring that will eventually fall off when he has completely healed.
Best story right here...
DS didn't cry during the procedure at all, it never bothered him, and it healed in a week. True story.
But then again, I don't make wusses
