Re: crusty baby eyes

  • Add a couple drops of breast milk to the corner of his eyes, they'll clear right up.

  • sounds like a clogged tear duct.  very common.  DD had it for approx 4 mos.  eventually it will go away on it's own, but in the meantime, you can wipe it clean w/ a warm washcloth and gently massage the bridge of his nose near the tear ducts to loosen them.  it's annoying, but will go away.

    This!!

  • I agree with the pp.  My dd has a clogged tear duct and it's really annoying.  Some days are better than others with the crustiness.

  • it's really sad to look at when they can't open their eyes!  thanks for all the tips!!
  • My son has this.  I did the breast milk thing and it worked for a little bit.  But his poor eyes got so bad that the Dr gave me a Rx for it.  I have to clean up his eyes real good and put some of his eye medicine in his eyes 2 to 3 times a day.  It doesn't cure it, but it helps it not be so bad.  Eventually the clogged tear ducts is correct themselves, but in the mean time I just keep doing the eye meds and keeping them clean.  GL!
