Daycare Recs in Northern Macomb

Our current daycare provider is no longer open on Mondays and Fridays.  Thankfully I'm out of work right now and won't be going back until this baby comes.  I need to find a new place for DD and the new baby.  It will just be part time (1-3 days/week) and the days are different every week since my schedule changes.  We live at 26/Gratiot area so anything near that would be great.

Re: Daycare Recs in Northern Macomb

  • I'be been going to my daycare for almost 4 years now.  She's great, very flexiable too.  She's at 24 and Gratiot just behind that CVS that's at the corner.  My daughter goes there 4 days and my son goes for about a 1/2 hour in the am, and about 1 hr after school.  Give her a call (586) 216-4042 or email vderieu@sbcglobal.net

Good luck in the search, I know how hard it is to find someone you like and click with.  I went to one house in my search and almost starting crying within the first few steps inside.

  • That's super close to us! How much does she charge? Does she include meals/snacks and whatnot?

  • You live so close to me! (I am at 24Mile and Baker Rd)

Our daycare is an in-home provider who is at 25Mile and County Line, over by Anchor Bay High School. I can give you her name and address, if you'd like....

  • That's really close too.  How much does she charge and what does she include?  Do you know how many kids she watches and their ages?

  • She charges me $30 a day, and that includes food, not formula or baby food though.  She has my daughter, a little boy about 3 and another little girl about 2.  Then my son is there in the am to catch the bus with 1 other girl, she's in 5th grade.  and then my son is there after school for about an hour.  My husband picks up around 4:30-5.  They stay busy during the day, they play, she does pre-school programs, arts & crafts, etc.  Like I said, I've been there since my son was 1 1/2 and he's turning 6 this summer.  She's just a part of the family now, we've even gone on trips with her and her family.

She does all ages, newborn-preschool, and is licensed and insured. She runs a preschool program for ages 3-5 while they attend daycare. She charges $40/day newborn-age 1, $36/day for toddlers (ages 1-2) and $32/day for preschool+ (potty trained, ages 3 and up). Right now there is a pretty good mix of all ages, I believe only two infants/babies and the rest are mostly toddler/preschool age. Most are all part time kids. She is open from 7:00 am-5:00 pm, and available other hours if needed. Includes meals, but not diapers or formula, and we all kind of shared chipping in for wipes and such....I would bring 2-3 packages of wipes every few months to help out.

    Good luck!
