Babies: 9 - 12 Months

When did you introduce cheese?

I know milk is supposed to wait until 1 years old - is that the same for cheese then?

Re: When did you introduce cheese?

  • Or pedi said we could do a little cheese, yogurt, ice cream, etc Now.  But not to do too much.  So we have given her a couple bites of each of these things.  Also she had some lasagna last night which has cottage/ricotta cheese.  She really enjoys it :)

  • This site is very imformative. Thanks!
  • We gave him shredded cheeses around 8 months old when I felt he needed proteins.

I love this site too!  We just started table foods at 9 months (she had been on all pureed baby food, with the exceptions of puffs, lil' crunchies, and yogurt melts until them) and this site has really provided some great guidance.  I wish I had looked there a little earlier, but I thought it was only for people who made their own baby food/purees, which I don't.

Anyway, to answer your question, I started introducing cheese in the last 2 weeks or so.  I use both shredded and small cubes as long as the cheese is soft.  DD loves some shredded cheese on her scrambled egg yokes!
