Babies on the Brain

Has your DH ever bought your lady stuff?

I just asked D to pick up some pads for me while he was out.

His response? "I told you I would never buy those for you! Get dressed and come with me if you want them"

I knew he would say no but it was worth a try. LOL

  • DH does, no problem.  I'd slap him if he said no.

  • He has never bought lady stuff, but he has offered to go for me to get it.
  • No, although he has said he would if he has to as long as I provide him with detailed instructions.  I sent him for pantyhose once and he came back with 5 different kinds.  Who knows what I'd end up with if I sent him for tampons.
  • If I asked DH to do that he'd probably call his mom or sister and ask them to get it for me!

I've never asked though so I really don't know!

  • Yeah he doesn't mind getting them for me, especially after I had Olivia and needed a lot!

Yes, the detailed instructions are important.  One time I asked for the Tampax Pearl Multipack and he returned with 3 boxes of Kotex Cardboard Super Tampons and scented thong pantyliners.

  • Yep.

He once told me he's more embarrassed to buy condoms than my tampons.  So back when we used them, I had to buy the condoms.  But every time I needed tampons?  "Honey.....need you to go to the store!!!!"

  • He has before and didn't complain. He said as long as he has his wedding ring on so people know they are for his wife then he is ok with it. I thought to myself "what would people ever think you were using them for?" Huh? He's weird.
  • DH grew up in a house with all women.  He probably knows more about lady stuff than I do and has no issues picking things up for me.

  • All the time.

He had this 18 yo GF when he was 16. She trained him well.

In fact, I owe her a great deal for many of his...um, abilities.

I hear you! I don't ask because even with specific instructions, he'd screw it up.

  • I am officially showing this to him so that he sees that other men do it often and it is not a big deal.

  • Yes.  I also sent him to buy me Monistat and he consulted with the pharmacist about which one to get.

    This.

We're adults.  I'm not making a special trip to the store.

Also this is a test I did with DH when we were dating, and I thought we were headed towards marriage.

I kid you not.  I asked him to get pantyliners once.  If he had said no I probably would have broken up with him.

I'm a biitch.  I decided it was indicative of how much he would help around the house and with errands.

I had to buy the condoms too! He wouldn't even be in the store with me at the same time. I don't know what his problem was, it's not like we were going to head straight to the store bathroom and get it on.

I've also sent DH for Monistat.

I use Kotex ultra thin pads. Once I picked up wings accidentally and DH unpacked the bag at home and said, "Honey you know you bought the wrong pads?"

    That is awesome.

I sent DH with a written, very detailed description once. He still called to make sure he was getting the right ones.

  • He picks them up more often than I do.

  • My DH does for me.  He actually told me that he did it in his early 20's for a girlfriend.  His response, "I'm secure in my manhood, I know they're not for me so who cares?"  I refused to tell him the story my cousin told me when she had to sell tampons to men for their own personal use.
  • Of course!  If he's at the store and I need something, then he'll get it.  It's not his favorite thing, but why waste gas for me to go to put a box in the cart (it would be me meeting him there after he gets off work, I SAH).  That would be ridiculous.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.
  • He has bought tampons for me before, but he bought the wrong kind and wrong absorbancy, so I have never asked him since then.

Maybe he did that on purpose...
