My Furbaby & Brittany Adoption Update

Brittany-breed of dog, not girl's name.  I've been emailing back and forth with the Brittany Rescue adoption agent in South Louisiana.  She's coming for a home visit on Sunday!  Not sure what to expect.  Does anyone have any ideas?

And my Furbaby:  As if I don't always AW him.

  • He's so cute!! What do you know about the rescue girl? I think that 2 bird dogs is infinitely easier than one. They "get" each other.

Thanks!  She seems really nice.  I am assuming she just wants to meet Ruger and talk to us to kind of see what we are looking for in another Brittany, and check out the house, make sure we have a fence and all (fence is actually not finished yet, but I told her that.)  I didn't know she was going to do a house call until today when she emailed me, so that kind of caught me off guard!  I don't have anything to hide though...not that I know of!  Just wondering how "thorough" she'll be, I guess!

  • Oh, I am a total dork. I thought they were bringing a rescue Britt up this weekend for you guys to try her out and see if she gets long w/ Ruger and all. But you're meeting the HUMAN who facilitates the dog rescue. Check. Got it.

That's exciting! We're gonna have more TTCAL pups to AW and PIP!!

She had mentioned it but probably not this visit.  She's bringing some up to North LA Saturday and coming back with some others, but she doesn't know if any will "fit" with our needs.  The one we originally wanted we got turned down for because we both work and he has "separation anxiety," so she's looking at others.

  • When they do the home visit they will want to see that your dog is happy and healthy and up to date on all shots. Then they want to make sure your yard and home is suitable for the new addition (ex: they wouldn't place a large dog in a small apt or a dog that previously ran away in a house without a really good fence). I hope it goes well and they can find you a match:)

  • He is so cute!  I grew up with a Brittany.....they are great dogs!
  • He's beautiful.  My cousin use to have a brittany named Taffy, she was the nicest dog.
