This is a neat idea, too bad there arent more books like this. I think Id like the book better if it was illustrated and said mommy and Daddy isntead of 'Jason'.
why didnt the baby have pants on when nursing in the bakery??

lol I didn't even notice that, that's kind of strange haha!?
Love the idea... But it's sort of funny how the family seems to be sort of a stereotypically "hippie" family (based on looking through the pictures), which makes it seem like extended BFing is something "crunchy," and almost perpetuates the stereotype that EBF is out of the mainstream.
I wish there were books that just treated BFing like it was something totally normal, like no big deal. But this is a start, I suppose!

I agree with you but I also think the hippie-ness makes it interesting!?

why doesn't he have pants on when nursing EVER?
I was wondering this too? I mean, he looks awfully young to be fully potty trained!
b/c hippy babies don't wear pants??? I'm still curious about the no pants. And he has pants at other times, just not when nursing. WTF?
I've been to plenty of different LLL meetings, a holistic parenting meeting, and I'm a member of a pretty darn crunchy AP group. I've never seen a kid that had to take their pants off to nurse!
Honestly, the story line just didn't appeal to me. It didn't flow, the language was jilted and it just didn't work. I didn't love the photographs per se (I feel like they were dark, but maybe that was my comp.), but did like that it showed a toddler nursing in daily settings. For Mez (I think that was the kid's name) I bet it's an awesome book. I'd like to have a similar book with great pics of us for M but I can't see us reading about Mez's day over and over.

I thought it was really cute! I like to see a "different" looking family, there are all sorts of people and I like to see a variety in our media at home.
I really liked the babywearing, biking, going to the co-op, and breastfeeding because that's what one of our days looks like!
I'll agree it's not perfect, but I would totally get it for DS.

oooh thanks! I love it.?

I dunno. I like the idea of the book, but I'd prefer a more "mainstream" looking family, too. I'll have to check out those other links!
And, yeah, WTH is up with the kid not wearing pants?! They're doing EC, I guess? (But who takes their kid out in public with a bare butt?)
ETA: I love the Mama's Milk book! I'm getting it for DS's B-day. Thanks for the link!
These look great!
All of this. It almost looks like they're trying too hard to show this great hippy, AP family and it comes off as completely stereotypical to me.
