Awesome cousin story.

I have a student in my class - we'll name her Sarah.

She has a cousin in another class (same grade level)- we'll name her Jessica.

I got a new student today - we'll name him Parker.

Parker saw Jessica at lunch from across the cafeteria -- they are cousins and had no idea they would be going to the same school.

Yet, Parker has no idea who Sarah is (in my class) even though they share a cousin (Jessica).

They all ride the same bus. They are all from Arkansas and moved here.

My mind is spinning.

Couldn't Parker be cousins with Jessica on one side and Sarah be her cousin on the other side? I have cousins that don't know each other...

Yes absolutely. It's just so strange that they all ended up here from Arkansas and had no idea they'd all be here.
