How does that even work? I mean, I KNOW how it works, but if you're not supposed to engage in that kind of behavior for 6 weeks pp, how are you already pregnant at 8 weeks pp? And even if you're pregnant, how can you even get a BFP on a pg test already?
Re: I tried to hold it in but I can't--2 month old baby and pg again
Two things come to mind.
1. OUCH.
2. WOW.
Growing Up Olson
Ditto!!!
Not supposed to is the key word.
Check out the clicky poll over there on sex before 6 weeks pp and that ought a sum up your answer.
But....to cut her some slack...her LO is almost 3 months and she is 5w pregnant..so she probably was past the 6 week mark.
This is the only thing I could think of.....
I was wondering if the hormone might still be in her system to give her a BFP, but I have no clue on that...
Anyone know?
she's almost 6 weeks (5w5d i thought i saw), thats not too early for a BFP..but that does mean she was already doing the deed at 2-3 weeks pp. she said she was on BCP but my ob wouldnt even prescribe them until my 6 wk pp appt.
I have a friend and her and her sister are 11 months apart in age so her sister was less than two months old when her mom got pregnant. It is possible.
But yes, ouch and wow! lol
Good thinking! C section... But all i got to say is.. Ouch! and Oopsies!
Three months for me... meh, people don't follow the six week rule apparently.
EDIT: I don't condone it but it does happen. No sense in judging I'm sure the woman is in quite a bit of shock. The possibility of 2 under 1 is quite scary I can tell you.
My MIL had two babies within 11 months of each other- so she got pregnant literally right about at 4-6 weeks pp.
And the second baby (SIL) ended up having mulitple health problems, needed a kidney transplant - can't have children ... and to this day MIL knows in her heart it's because her body wasn't ready to do it again.
But even if you had a c-section, you're still supposed to wait 6 weeks. The no sex rule is because of the open wound in your uterus where the placenta was attached, which still occurs if you had a c/s.
there has been a plethera(sp?) of pregnancies on the 0-3, 3-6 month boards.
it's almost like a competition sometimes.
look at the birds | bless this food
LOL.
I got on bc at 6 weeks pp. It seems like she may have just started bc and got pregnant... very possible.
But then when you're just on bcp, don't they say that you should use backup the first month or so to make sure it works. It's been a while since I went on bcp so I could be misremembering.
Obviously, to each his own. But I would be terrified in that situation, especially after having a c/s myself. I want to put distance between my next pregnancy to give my scar time to heal.
From reading through the comments earlier on that post, I do remember OP mention that she had a c section and there was some concern about healing, particulary that her dr wasn't pleased about this. Anyways, rough math, but she probably would have gotten pregnant right at 6 weeks PP. She's 5 weeks pregnant, but we can't forget to subtract those 2 weeks to get conception date.
For the record, I'm not judging. I'm just surprised. My dr said it was ok after 4 weeks but I had always heard 6 weeks. We waited 5. I suppose it could happen--obviously it does happen.
I want my kids close together. Not THAT close together, but I'm sure some people do. To each his/her own. I wish her the best. Congrats on babies!!!
That is sad your MIL blames herself. I hope that you do not believe close pregnancies were the cause of your SIL health problems. Most things like this are caused by genetic anomalies. My older children are 13,5 months apart. #2 is perfectly healthy.
I loved this response:
"Congrats! And at least you don't have to obsess about getting your body back in order! You can just wait until round 2 is over and worry about it then! "
yeah... b/c THAT is the priority after having a baby!
