PCOS & OPKs

Has anyone had success with OPKs?  Assuming that you ovulated...

I didn't use OPKs last time I was on Clomid because I never got a positive before that when I did O....and I didn't want to waste the money.  But now my local Dollar Tree has them(they didn't carry them for my last attempts). Are these just as good as the other brands or should I spend the extra money on name brands?

Re: PCOS & OPKs

  • They worked for me when I was ovulating. When I am not on meds, I don't ovulate, but with the clomid and femara, the opks have worked along with my charting and verified with b/w at 7dpo.

  • What do you mean by success? That the OPK showed a positive result? Then yes, I bet a bunch of us have. I got positives every. single. month. for over 18 cycles before I stopped using them once I was being monitored and triggered.

If by success you mean a pregnancy, you will probably want to check on SAIF or 1st Tri.

ETA: Sorry - I missed the whole PCOS purpose of this question. Sorry!

That's ok.  Yes I am looking for positive results with an OPK for someone with PCOS :)

18 cycles of that would drive me nuts too!  Fing IF!!
