I don't really get it. I see so many people who want to find out like 2 seconds after they get pregnant. I understand being curious and anxious and all, but why not wait until the u/s is 100% positive of what you are having.

This again and again.
DS has acid relux and milk protein allergy, and had torticollis, used to EP,
now we FF .
April siggy 3-6 month
Born 7lb, 15oz, 21-1/4, 2 mo - 12lbs, 14oz. 25",
3mo - 14lb, 4oz 26in , 4 mo - 16lb, 1oz, 26 3/4 in, 5 mo 18 lb, 4oz 27-3/4 in, 6 mo 28 3/4 in 19lb, 14oz
It is the excitement of shopping for the baby. I don't want to start shopping until I know what we are having. Sure, it may not be 100% certain on the first u/s but you at least have an excuse to shop for one sex or the other.
So if you went to the Dr and at 15 weeks they told you they could tell you what they think you might be having, that it would not be 100%. You would tell them no wait until 20 weeks?
Which by the way just because you are at 20 weeks it is not 100% that they are right on the sex.
And as you stated people are just curious and excited so why not.

I wouldn't consider 10 weeks being 2 seconds after getting pregnant. Since I am assuming this post has a lot to do with what I posted about finding out at 15 weeks?
So you weren't one of those POAS at 10 then 11, 12, 13 etc DPO waiting and hoping for your BFP? Even if you didnt do that, its the same thing. People are excited and impatient, its not uncommon

I think it's that next mile stone. A lot of pregnancy is hurry up and wait, and finding out the gender is a midpoint, it is a milestone that your little bean is really a person. You can start thinking and speaking in terms of him or her. I think it just makes it that much more real.
I guess I get that. Pregnancy is just so boring though and it seems if you rush it all then you have nothing more to look forward to. 3rd Trimester is terribly boring.
And actually I only POAS at 12DPO only this time. I guess after 9 cycles of TTC and a m/c you get anxious to find out if you are pregnant again.
It's just something I don't understand. I didn't say anyone was wrong for wanting it. Just don't get it.
I normally read the responses, but I didn't feel like it - sorry if I'm repeating anyone's sentiments.
1) I'd be waiting forever if I wanted to wait until I got a 100% positive ultrasound.
2) I want to find out when my doctor is moderately certain, because I'm not "Team Green." This is a gender-specific house over here! Wooop Woopt!!! (in my Amy Poehler voice)
3) I'm excited about finding out the deets on this kiddo... you aren't. And??

Is "it" not a pronoun? Thats gender neutral right? No idea which is why I am asking.
This!
This, and also, It really helps to bond with the baby when you know if it's a boy or girl.
THIS THIS THIS!!!!!

Yep. Patience is totally not one of my virtues!
Mostly I just want to know if there is a penis swimming around inside me. Because that would be WEIRD. Cool. But also weird.
Also I have no patience.
Also I'm tired of referring to this baby as an "it"
LMAO.
