Boy name?

We are team green and had no trouble finding a girl's name we like (Katelyn Josephine). Boy name are an entirely different story. My husband is stuck on the name John and won't budge. It's not my favorite but I'd like to hear what you all think about it. With the middle name (named after a family member) it would be John Harris.

    We're the same way - baby is due so soon and if it's a boy he will be nameless!

    Anyway I think John is classic and traditional. You can't go wrong, but I would name him Jonathan, instead. I just prefer Jonathan more and he may want to go by it when he's older.

    First off, I love your girl's name!

    And I like John Harris as well. John has been so common over the past couple generations, I think it's actually becoming a rarity among kids today. Is there any reason he's stuck on John??

    John Harris is a great name for a boy!  I love when I see a little boy with the name John (which isn't often). I think the name is classic and transitions to be a good name for a grown man, too.  BTW I love your girl name as well.

    No, he wouldn't be named after anyone. DH just thinks the name is classic and doesn't like the other names I throw out there saying they are too trendy.

    My nephew is Jonathon Cody (named after a Jon in the family) but goes by his mn.

     I think Jonathon is a cute name.

    I like John Harris! And John Harrison, too. Sounds like he could grow up to be anything. And Johns can always go by Jake, Jack, etc. And J. Harris _______ sounds v. cool!

    I like John. I think it's a strong, classic name. I'm more concerned that you don't love it - it'd personally be hard for me to name my child something that I wasn't 100% on board with. Good luck Smile

    I think I'd go with Jonathan and call him Jon for short. Jonathan Harris is a good combo.

    I really like the name John Harris. I think it flows well.

    I love John. That's my grandpa and uncle's name. Classic, strong...you can't go wrong with John. Jonathan is nice, but I prefer John. Love your girl name too.

    LOVE your girl name. I'm not a big fan of John. That being said, I like the combination of John Harris. But as a pp said, I would have a hard time naming my child something I didn't love.

    Maybe compromise...and name a boy Harris/Harrison John. Regardless it'll be classic but with your last name....it'll be 3 last names as a name. Kinda neat.
