Alabama Babies

Atlanta recs

We are thinking about going to Atlanta for one night over spring break.  We want to take Allie to the aquarium, zoo, and maybe coca-cola and cnn.  Does anyone have recommendations for hotels?  Everything I find with decent reviews downtown seems really expensive...and I am not really looking to spend a whole lot on a 2 day trip.

TIA!

Allie ~ 01/26/09 ~ 7 lbs, 9 oz ~ 20.75 in. & Amelia ~ 03/16/11 ~ 8 lbs, 1 oz ~ 21 in.

Re: Atlanta recs

  • We went for the weekend in November.  We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Centennial Park.  It was a bit pricier than some of the other hotels, but we were walking distance to the aquarium, World of Coke, and CNN.  It also included a full breakfast in Ruth's Chris on the first floor.

FYI on the aquarium - Make sure you purchase tickets in advance and choose the earliest admission time possible.  It gets really crowded about 1 1/2 after opening and it will be harder to get up close to the exhibits.

  • We usually stay in the Perimeter area. It is a little bit of a drive, but nice area, a lot of restaurants, etc.. and they have great deals on hotwire.
