Would you pronounce this EH-vie or EE-vie (long E sound)? I haven't actually known any IRL, so I'm not sure.

Since I would pronounce it the same as Evelyn, I'd say Eh-vie.

You don't pronounce it EEvelyn, right?

The Evelyns I know that use Evie as a nickname use the long e sound (EE-vee). I think it's a cute nn, but I never could get there naturally. We generally call her Evelyn, but sometimes call her Ev (Ehv) or Eh-vie.

I know Evie's that are both Eh-vie and EE-vie. As a NN for Evelyn, I would say Eh-vie.

I would probably pronounce it eve-ee, but I went to school with an ev-ee and her name wasn't weird or odd or mispronounced. I'd say it's totally your preference.

I've always heard it pronounced EE-vie, and I personally LOVE this name. If you watch the movie The Mummy, the main character goes by EE-vie.

I've only known 1 Evie and she pronounced it EE-vie so that's how I would pronounce it. Her full name was Evangeline. Not that you asked, but I don't really like it. I think Evelyn is a lot prettier than any of the NNs, but I'm not a NN person.

Evie was actually the runner up name for DD. We were going to pronounce it Eh-vie.

I think I got the idea from Evangeline Lilly from Lost - this is her NN, but I like it as an actual name.

I'm a fan of uncommon names, though Wink
