Question about visiting Victoria

Hi all,

My sister, SIL and I are looking into planning a trip to Victoria in May for my mom. It will be to celebrate Mother's Day, my mom's birthday, and the fact that she will be 5 years cancer free (breast cancer). We're looking into taking a float plane up so we wouldn't have a car. I'm thinking staying there two nights, going to a spa, and doing some shopping. I'm wondering if you have any recommendations on where to stay. I'd love to stay at the Empress but I think that may be out of our price range. We'd like someplace somewhat in the heart of downtown Victoria where we could walk to a spa, restaurants, shopping etc.

Thanks!

Re: Question about visiting Victoria

  • We went to Victoria for our Honeymoon 3 years ago.  We stayed at the Best Western Carlton Plaza which was close to the water.  Since we were only at the hotel to sleep (among other things), it was great to be right downtown.  I don't think it was that expensive, def cheaper than the Empress.
