At this very moment, he is sitting beside my office chair and staring out into the hallway. (which kind of creeps me out. DH told me ghost stories about the house before I moved in.)
He went to the vet on Monday. Ironically, the microscope bulb had busted, so they are going to look under the microscope for anything other than parasites and bacteria, but after the vet examined him and got a brief history, he was 99% sure that bacteria/parasites and the drastic change in diet when the girls [the wenches, I like to refer to them now] had taken him.
He gave me an antibiotic, a de-wormer (just incase) and special powder to put in his food. His stool is beginning to harden, and the blood is becoming less and less. Woohoo!
A friend of a friend is coming to look at him on Saturday. I've been talking with his wife since she just had a baby in July, and they seem like they would be a fairly good fit. I've just learned my lesson from last time. That is: a) take my time in deciding who is right for Bacon, b) Add up all the factors and lastly c) make sure that they know I will NOT take him back just because he needs to go to the vet!!!!
that's awesome - I'm so glad to hear that he's doing better!! He's such a fighter from the sounds of it!
And our cats do that sometimes too, and Ive read that when they turn their attention to a certain area of look in a certain spot, they usually are seeing a spirit of some sort (I'd like to think ours are all good ones though! So...yours are too!). Sometimes it's neat...but sometimes - not so much!
He is a fighter, for sure! One of the girls had the nerve to text me yesterday and ask how Bacon is. I told her what was going on, and that he's fine. She then asked "Are you going to find him another home?" UMMMMMMM.... if you're trying to be subtle in asking for him, the answer is GO.TO.HELL.
I doubt the stories. This is the house that DH grew up in, and the adults living here had questionable extracurricular activities. DH swears up and down that he had experienced things as well, and he certainly was not high. Eh, whatev. After seeing Paranormal Activity though, I'll tell you that I promptly opted out of getting a video and audio monitor for LO. Haha.
hahaha to questionable extracurricular activities - that's hilarious!
I can't believe that wench had the nerve to text you and ask about him! Seriously! I give you tonnes of credit for not saying "actually, yes I am finding a new home for him since you clearly cannot take care of him properly"
Ugh. I wanted to. I wanted so badly to be snarky and point out that they are immature, despite their attempts at being mature enough to handle a dog. I want to bash them in the face.
But, you know what they say.... learn from the mistakes. I'll make sure that this never happens again. It's too bad for the people who will proceed them in being interested in Bacon because I will look like a psycho.
