TTC After a Loss

Some of y'all are so young! ::looks for cane::

I'll be 35 in April; I consider anyone under 30 "young". :)

And this is not a knock on the young'uns. I was just surprised at all the ladies in their early-mid 20's. You all have your shiit together way before I ever did. LOL :)

Momma to three boys: Henry - 4yo Alex - 18mo Jack - born 2/23/12 at 20w due to ruptured uterus (previa and accreta resulting in hysterectomy) He only lived here on Earth for an hour, but he will live in our hearts forever. m/c #1: sept '09, m/c #2: july '10

  • Ha.  Well, I'm the girl that sat at home on the weekend of her 21st birthday and watched the Notebook.  I'm not into some of the stuff that all my other friends my age are into.

  • Definitely agreed.  I'm 30 and I can't believe how mature everyone is here.  And I agree with redstar, you young'un definitely have your stuff today way younger that I did!  Go you!

  • I know, right? (Also not knocking the younger ladies) I thought the same thing! I'm your age turning 35 last day of March. I didn't even get married till I was 28! The last thing on my mind in my early 20's was what club I was going to that night!  I grew up in the NYC suburbs and now live in FL. Down here, things are done much sooner than up north -- makes me wonder if it's a regional thing.

I used to live in FL and I definitely agree that there's a different mindset about marrying young(er). Up here (new england) people get married and have kids so much later.

I didn't even start dating my DH until 6 months before my 30th bday. :)

  • The strange thing is in the last few months there have been more girls who have joined this board who are now in their 30's, for the longest time it seemed like there was a very small percentage of us and the majority were in their mid to late 20's.
  • You had your stuff together before I did... I am working on Kid #1 and will be 35 in Sept.  It is all about choices and I wanted to see a bit of the world before settling down...

IDK, I got married when I was 26 and I'm from CT. I went straight from college through to law school, so when I was 26 I already had an undergrad and a professional degree and had been dating H for 5+ years...if I was going to move here to DC it was only going to be because that's where he was and we were going to get married...otherwise, I have nothing tying me here otherwise. I also truly did not see the point of dating any longer than that.

FWIW, I'm 29 now, soon to be 30 and we just started TTC right before my 29th birthday.

    BFP #1 9/23/09. Missed MC 10w3d D&C 11/3/09.

    BFP #2 4/13/10. Bridget born 12/28/10

    BFP #3 Finn born 8/11/15

  • I'm originally from NJ and now currently live in FL with my hubby.  I was that girl in high school that used to swear I was gonna live in NYC, not get married until I was atleast 30 and have babies mid to early 30's maybe.  Well I met DH my senior year of high school and all of that changed. We got married March 2009 after dating for almost 5 years and we were both only 22.  I think life happens and its not always the way you planned.  I absolutely love my life and have no regrets.  We both came from parents who got married and had kids young and we want to do the same thing.  I'm 23 and out of the house and my parents just turned 50 and still have plenty of time to enjoy life and travel together. They just waited to do it when they were older and could honestly afford much more now then when they were in there 20's.

  • I feel the same way.  I'm 38.  Time is running out on me for a remote chance of having a baby to term.  I wish I had started in my 20s.  Unfortunately, it took me a bit longer than some to find the love of my life.
  • I'll be 34 Friday if that makes you feel any better.....
