update on my dumb uterus

yesterday I went to my MW, i was 2 cm dilated but my cervix was still kind of thick. She was able to feel all the way through my cervix, and swept my membranes and all.

well i had some contractions last night, nothing too bad, so i went to bed. Woke up at 4:30 and lost a big, nasty chunk of mucus plug with bloody show. Contractions started back up, but i was able to fall asleep again.

woke up around 10 and started some nipple stimulation my MW had told me to try. That got the contractions started up really well again. Pretty much since 11 this morning they have been fairly consistant around 6 to 8 minutes apart, around a minute each. But they haven't gotten stronger. The last hour they have gotten closer together, but still just kind of uncomfortable, nothing i even have to stop and pay attention to. I did lose 2 more massive chunks of nasty plug throughout the day though.

I called the on call MW just to make sure we didn't need to stay up and keep monitoring them, and she agreed that the best thing i could do right now would be to get some sleep. She said that even if they are close together and long, if they are mild enough that i can still talk and sing through them then she feels completely safe telling me to stay home. Pretty much, if they get strong enough to wake me up later, then we should head in. and if they continue tomorrow like they have been today, then we should come in sometime tomorrow.

So DH and i are going to go get some sleep, and ust hope and pray that they continue while i sleep and get stonger eventually. The on call MW i talked to tonight is my back up, and she said that both she and my main MW are at the hospital all day tomorrow, "so it would be a great day to go into labor!", so i really hope tomorrow is our day!
