Nursing gown or Nursing Tank for hospital ?

What kind of attire should I bring with me to the hospital?  I plan on nursing, so should I buy a specific nursing gown, or wear the gown they give me at the hospital?  Did you bring a robe too?  Or did you wear a nursing tank and comfy pants?

 Thanks!

  • My plan is to wear the gown they give you (so that way when things get messy, its their issue to deal with). I'll bring a nursing tank to wear home, and perhaps if someone stops by (under the gown).

  • Once I was in my room I wore yoga pants and a nursing tank. The hospital gown was so uncomfortable. It's nice to be able to wear your own clothing.
  • I am probably overpacking but I am bringing a nursing tank, yoga pants, a nursing nightgown and matching robe. I am not sure what I will want to wear.

    This!

  • I ended up using the tank and didn't use a robe from home but another hospital gown. I didn't bring a lot with DD b/c I didn't want it to get left behind or blood on it from afterwards. Sorry if TMI! And with this one I plan on doing the same.

  • As soon as I could, I changed out of the gown provided and wore comfy pants and a nursing tank - and my own undies (I am in part of the minority that hated those things)!  I felt much more human wearing my own clothes and plan to do the same this time around.
  • for my first i wasn't sure what to bring, but while i was in the hospital my grandmother brought me new nursing gowns and they were soo helpful!!
  • I just wore the hospital gown with DS1 and was uncomfortable the entire time I was in the hospital. With DS2 I took a couple pairs of yoga capris and some nursing tanks and was much more comfortable. That is my plan for this time too.
  • I had a csection w/DD so was there longer.  I stayed in the gowns they provided--was easier to nurse and have them check the bleeding.   Towards the end of my 5 day stay I did change into a nightgown that buttoned down the front.  Yes I brought a robe.  Pants were a no-can-do cuz of the incision.  If I were doing a vaginal birth I wouldnt bother bringing the nursing tanks....you wont be there that long.

This. I don't know what will be more comfortable for me so I would rather have opinions.

This. I don't know what will be more comfortable for me so I would rather have options.
