Do you have breakable items on the dresser in LO's room?

I am adding more decorations to DD's room to make it more of a "big girl" room.  I bought a vase and have a frame that I put on the dresser.  She can't reach it, yet, but I am a little worried when she is in her toddler bed that she will try and reach for it when I am not in there.  Am I just being silly?

  • If the room is carpeted, I wouldn't worry about it. DS#1 has smashed a piggy bank and a candle holder on the tile in his bathroom, so it can definitely be a concern if you have hard flooring.

  • I wouldn't put anything in there I didn't mind breaking. Not to mention if it were to tip over and shatter she would get cut. I'm not a safety freak but I would nix the vase for sure.

  • Thanks ladies.  DD does have carpet in her room, so that is a plus!  I will be careful with the decorating decisions!

  • Anything that is purely decorative and serves no functional purpose is up on high shelves in DD's room. When we are together, we take the picture frames off the shelves and talk about who is in them, but I don't leave them at her level if she is alone in her room.
