I've definitely missed you girls.
So it's been an awful time lately. I hurt my sciatic nerve, got sick from Brad, and I lost my job today - I was part of the 5% layoff that they did. My job was just eliminated is all they told me. I can't even apply for a job being this pregnant. ugh. And I was the breadwinner. Brad is being so great and supportive, as is my family. I'm still going to try and find something but I know it will be hard.
Just please keep us in your prayers as this is going to be a very difficult time for us.
I'll try to be on more often now. I'm just hurt emotionally.
If anyone knows of anything please let me know, happy to send my resume!!!

I am so very sorry about your job. That seriously sucks that they would do that to you, so close to having the baby. wow.
I will be thinking about you and crossing my fingers that things will get better very, very soon!

Luckily I'm on Brad's insurance and we've saved a lot. But still it's not good.
I don't know if I can apply for unemployment b/c you have to be looking for a job to collect it.
So I don't know. We'll see. I just gotta digest it right now and try and figure things out.
I know God has a plan, and of course I need to just trust in that.
Get online to the states unemployment website immediately. It's GA right? I don't know much about Georgia's benefits but if it's anything like AL then you should be able to collect. They probably have it set up where you can do it all online. Just because you are pregnant doesn't mean you aren't looking for a job. At the very least you should be able to collect it for the weeks while you're still pregnant and technically able to work. Then once your doctor clears you medically, you can technically be "looking" for work as again and start back making claims. I have a little experience w/ this.
I am so sorry you're having to deal with this. You're in my thoughts and prayers. What kind of work do you do or what is your degree in? If I remember correctly you've been doing project management?

Yes, I've been in project management - banking, credit cards, processing, interfaces, etc. Pretty much the financial industry.
I will definitely get online tomorrow. I'm going to go to the library and get going on things. Brad wants me to take a day just to relax, but I'd rather get moving on it all. I can't collect until TSYS gets this form signed and witnessed. So I have to do that and get it off to them tomorrow.
It just sucks. Very bad timing.
But will use every amount of time that I can to find something else.
Thankfully I'm blessed with wonderful friends and family.

I'm so sorry Katie.
The Alabama unemployment offices (1-866-234-5382 ) should be able to help you. I know you can't file online since you worked out of state, but you should be able to call and file in Alabama since you are an Alabama resident.
Alabama Workforce Development is located just down the hall from me. If you can send me your resume, I'll pass it along to those guys. Maybe they will know of something.
I'll keep praying for you and Brad (and LBG!).

I know I responded on FB too but I wanted to let you know you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I know this has to be tough on you and probably couldn't have come at a more stressful time. Please know that I am thinking about you! I do want us to get together soon! I would say this week but I just got diagnosed with strep this morning so that's the last thing you need. When I am feeling better, let's go to lunch. My treat!
And I don't know that I would necessarily say that you couldn't be looking for a job. I know of a girl who through her networking connections got hired when she was 7 mos. pregnant. It's probably not the easiest thing in the world but it happens. I think you are doing the right thing being open about it. Who knows what doors this could open for you! Maybe you will get something here and we can have lunch together more often!

I am going to call about the AL unemployment tomorrow since I can't do it online - I looked it up tonight.
I have some friends keeping an eye for us and we'd be willing to move but I'd much rather stay here.
Definitely keep us in your prayers, we need them.
