For me it's going to the gym. Even when I am having a horrible day/week and feel so overwhelmed and Sawyer is needy and I can't find anyone to watch him, I know I can drop him off in the gyms daycare for an hour or two and take a pilates/yoga/kickboxing class to unwind and get a little time that is my own. What's your trick?
Re: What helps when you are having an overwhelming day/week?
I wish that I belonged to a gym nearby. I am impressed with your working out and using it as a good thing in your life!
Me? I eat and I cry. Good coping techniques, huh?
Actually, when I am having a rough go of it, I do my best to get out of the house. A change of scenery typically helps. If all else fails, there is internet shopping!
PS--I responded to your post below.
Getting out of the house, with or without LO. And taking a long, hot, steamy shower. Going on a walk. Those are my tricks.
I bundle up both boys, put them in the stroller and take a long walk.
They feel better getting outside, I feel better getting some exercise, and if DH is home it gives him a break too.
