I know every baby is different, but I'm just trying to get an idea on how much food Abby should be eating. I think she's hit a growth spurt lately because she's eating like a horse!
Right now she takes 4-6 ounces of BM 3 times a day. She has oatmeal at breakfast, a veggie and a fruit at lunch, yogurt for snack, and a meat and veggie at dinner. Lately I've been having to send an extra fruit or veggie to daycare....
Re: s/o Food
I'm obviously no expert with my almost 7 month old. I just wanted to mention that our pedi told us that until one year, most of M's intake should still be formula or bm. I think he said somewhere around 75% but don't quote me. He said that while it's okay to add feedings and such, that if it seemed like he wasn't getting enough to add more formula rather than an extra "jar" of baby food.
Add I'll add the obligatory "every doc is diff" thing though.
I don't think she is overeating. She may just be going through a growth spurt.
I think at around 8 months K was eating 2 4-oz. jars of babyfood for lunch and dinner, plus a snack (oatmeal, toast or pancakes) in the morning. She was also taking around 5 or 6 bottles a day of around 4-5 oz. each.)
That includes night time too though... we only send her to the sitter with two bottles during the day since we feed her when we are at home over lunch.

Hey Rachel, it's been almost 1/2 a yr so I don't exactly remember when this phase happened with M, but we did it too.
I freaked out because I remember there was a time period where M ate up to 7 {yes SEVEN} baby food jars a day. Grant it, I nursed him on-demand until 9.5 months so it was his choice. I remember freaking out: I talked with my Pedi's ofc nurses and they said it was okay...I shared with my LLL group and they acted like it was normal... I remember I tried and offered the breast instead of food when he still acted hungry after the 1st jar and he'd get upset and chose food over me {yes, I got my feelings hurt!}.
For us, it was a 2-2.5 wk phase and he actually didn't gain much weight during that period. I don't know how to explain it since ours wasn't a spurt, but he's healthy and still growing now {petite, but growing!}.

Amanda- That makes me feel so much better! I sent extra BM to daycare today and she ended spitting up all over her clothes, but she doesn't with the extra food?! At our last pedi appointment I said something to the doctor about her not getting enough BM, but he acted like she was getting plenty since she was gaining weight just fine. So, who knows? I'm just glad I'm not alone and my kid isn't crazy for loving food. ;o)
