One of my BIL's lives with me and DH and always sleeps on the couch. I have a set of bunk beds with a twin on top and full size bed on bottom, and a really nice twin bed that is practically brand new. But for some reason he chooses to sleep on my furniture. It probably wouldn't bother me so bad but he sleeps with his shirt off. It just grosses me out because he's probably sweating all over my couch and it's not like I can just wash it like sheets on a bed. I had told DH before that I didn't want him sleeping on the furniture and he got mad at me. But now I'm really sick of it and plan on talking to DH about it tonight and having him tell BIL he can't sleep on the furniture. Before I talk to him I just wanted to know if I'm being stupid. Opinions please.
Re: NBR: Am I being stupid?
I don't think you're being stupid- but is he sleeping the living room, or is it an extra room w/ a couch or something? Is it a room everyone uses each day? It would bother me a lot more if it were a situation where you come out in the morning and have to tiptoe around to keep from waking him or something.
But yeah- sweat and chest hair all up on your couch is kinda gross to me, too.
Yes he does, he's lived with us many times throughout the years and used to sleep in a bed, but told DH he likes sleeping on the couch because then he slept on his sides instead of his back or stomach. I wanted to be like guess what buddy, I had the same probablem and bought a body pillow to keep me on my sides.
It's in our basement living room which is where we do our tv watching at night. One night DH fell asleep on the couch and BIL couldn't get him up so that he could sleep on the couch and was all pissy the next day because he had to sleep in the bed.
If he wants to sleep on the couch then he needs to at least put a sheet under himself. 'Nuff said.
