CD21= I didn't ovulate :( and Does this make sense?

Well, my first cycle with 50mg clomid+ovidrel trigger cd20 b/w= 13.7

I just don't understand it as I always thought I was ovulating and my non-medicated cycles were 18 and 21, and this is lower.

My follies this cycle were 13 and 18 the day before I triggered, then I had my IUI 36 hours after trigger.

The nurse said that next cycle instead of raising my dose they are having me take clomid days 3-7 and put me on progesterone sooner, about 2 days after I ovulate. I would think they would want to RAISE my dose instead of changing days am I missing something?

The dr told me months ago that he wanted to be aggressive due to my endo.... Can someone shed a light on this for me?

Thanks ladies :)

  • If you triggered, you ovulated (well you have a 96 or 97% chance of o'ing).

I think you may just need additional progesterone support.

Also, what day did you trigger?  Your progesterone needs to be test 7 days past ovulation, not on CD 21.

  • I triggered on CD11, IUI on CD13, b/w CD 20

I thought the cd21 b/w needed to be at least 15 on a clomid cycle to have ovulated? I'm confused :(

I take Clomid days 3-7 and I used to do OPK kits and when it detected my LH surge (ovulation) I would go in 7 days after that for my progesterone level. Mine barely reached 15 a couple months ago it was d they said I had ovulated... now I dont know how they would know that but I assume that number shows that because thats the dose I still use. CD21 doesnt mean anything unless you ovulate on CD14..... I ovulate on CD20 usually so I get tested CD27.... I am on to IUI now so it is different but they have me going for my blood test 7 days after IUI.

  • I am definitely a newbie and have only done 4 medicated cycles but it is my understanding that any progesterone shows that you've ovulated (i.e. if they tested you prior to ovulation it would be less than 1).  But ditto to those who said you have to be tested 7dpo.
TTC since August 2008 4 cycles Femara = BFN Dx PCOS February 2010, 1000 mg Metformin XR IUI #1: Dexamethasone + Femara + Ovidrel + Progesterone = BFN IUI #2: Dexamethasone + Femara + Ovidrel + Progesterone = BFP! Our son arrived January 17, 2011!
  • My RE's nurse told me that a progesterone level of 5 or more indicates that ovulation has occurred.  On a non-medicated cycle, they like to see it at 10+, or at 15+ on a medicated cycle.
