I'm having DD tomorrow morning, and a friend just told me how her DD arrived and basically had a mini-period from all of her hormones. Did anyone else experience this? how bad were the hormonal side effects on your daughter? I'm kind of freaked out about this...

this. a mucusy discharge that the pedi said may take up to 2 weeks to go away. she also informed us about the mini-period.

yeah a little discharge is normal & there can be a little bit of blood in it. Mine only had discharge no blood ....

my LO had the mini period...it was just a little mucusy discharge with tiny bit of blood in it. it didn't last long and is completely normal...and they will not get it again (until they are older of course)

Our LO had a discharge which is due to all the hormones, no period though. It went away after a few weeks

DD never had this, but I wouldn't worry.

It really wasn't bad. It was mostly just a mucousy discharge. Also, DD boobs were rock hard (felt like marbles) as a result of the hormones for a few weeks. Just an FYI that it's totally normal since I wasn't expecting that part. It freaked me out the first time I gave her a bath.

Thanks. It doesn't sound nearly as bad as I thought it might. Discharge/mucous = no problem. Also, I had no idea about the marble boobs. Glad I asked!

We had a bit of discharge with a tiny bit of blood. We also had some BB leaking, but that lasted less than a day

Same as most of the pp's - we had some discharge, mucus type stuff (thick-ish a little yellow) and 2 tiny little drips of blood. The discharge lasted 4 days and was very on and off for those 4 days.

I'd never heard of the mini period before, or the marble boobs! Hmm. Now I wonder if she's got those going on.

Mine had this as well! It happened when she was 3 days old. It wasn't much blood...very tiny tiny amount with the discharge, but enough to be noticable. It's normal!
